Brief History :

The 1978 compilation He Walks Beside Me, Favorite Songs is a good sampler of Elvis' gospel material.

The front has a really good close-up shot from the Aloha TV Special. To the right of the photo, Elvis’s name is stylishly printed in a white ornate style of flourished lettering that looks highly impressive against the black coloured background. Immediately below is the album’s full title He Walks Beside Me – Favourite Songs of Faith And Inspiration printed in smaller type.

The reverse side of the sleeve has a centre panel mounted on a black background. At the top of this panel a photograph of a church spire is displayed. Immediately below are the song titles together with a few credits, such as “Reissue produced by Joan Deary” and “All the material previously released except The Impossible Dream and If I Can Dream”

Brief History : Mahalo From Elvis is a compilation album by Elvis Presley released posthumously in 1978. Side one consists of five previously unissued tracks Presley recorded in Honolulu on January 14, 1973 for inclusion in the U.S.-version of the live concert TV special Aloha from Hawaii (these tracks are not considered "live" recordings, however, as no audience was present). The recording of No More, however, was not used in the special. All songs on side two were previously issued recordings originating from various Presley movie soundtracks in the 1960s. It was certified Gold on 15/09/2011 by the RIAA.

Brief History : Elvis: A Legendary Performer Volume 3 is a compilation album featuring recordings by American singer Elvis Presley. It was the third in a series of albums that began with Elvis: A Legendary Performer Volume 1 in 1974, the first to be released since Presley's death in 1977, and the last edition until Elvis: A Legendary Performer Volume 4 in 1983. As per the format of the series, the album was a mixture of previously released recordings mixed with tracks that, as of the date of this album's release, had never been issued on an official (RCA-sanctioned) album release. It was certified Gold on 12/18/1978 by the RIAA.

Included in this instalment is "Danny", a previously unissued recording from 1958 of what was at one point to be the theme song for Presley's film King Creole (when the film still retained the title of the novel upon which it was based, A Stone for Danny Fisher). "Britches", a song recorded for but dropped from the music-lite western Flaming Star makes its debut, as do two production number recordings cut from the 1968 NBC Comeback Special - remakes of Presley movie songs "It Hurts Me" and "Let Yourself Go". A previously unreleased live performance from Las Vegas in 1970, two alternate takes from movie soundtracks, and an alternate take from Presley's first post-Army single from 1960 round out the set, along with an interview recording from 1956 and several previously released numbers.

Two versions of this album were released: one in standard black vinyl, and one as a picture disc. This is the picture disc version.
