label founded by Reinhard Mohn in 1956 as a supplement to the
book publishing company Bertelsmann Lesering. It then lead to
the foundation of the pressing plant Sonopress in Gütersloh
in 1957, and the launch of the Ariola
label in 1958.
Many recrds from the 7500 serles were later reissued with
5 digit numbering ("Bestellnummer") with the original matrix-number
on the label. Example: 7898 reissued as 36 186. Both versions
shown above and below. |
