The numbering system
35 000 series The first single issued was 35 719 in 1958. (Josephine Baker's "Die Regenbogenkinder"). 
Unused earlier numbers than 35 719 were later used (1959-1960).
45 000 series Unused early numbers were later used.
10 000 series The even numbers were used until the end of 1969. (10 000, 10 002, 10 004 etc).
From then (1970) the odd numbers were filled in.  (10 001, 10 003, 10 005 etc).
18 000 series
19 000 series		 These series ran chronologically continuous.
Even numbers only. (18 000, 18 002, 18 004 etc.).
14 000 series Even with this eries,  it is clear that there was no straight forward system.
Although a few numbers already were used in 1966, the vast number
were assigned to the end-sixties. They were temporally numbered in ascending order.
Founded in Germany by Bertelsmann in 1958.
