US United Artists Records was founded by Max E. Youngstein of United Artists in 1957 initially to distribute records of its movie soundtracks, though it soon branched out into recording music of a number of different genres.  The first United Artists release in OZ  was issued on London HL 1354 in July 1958,  and from mid 1961 they were issued on the ARC Coronet label.  In Late 1961 ARC started the United Artists Label in OZ with it's own Plastic Sleeve.  In early 1967 the label changed to Festival Records and in 1980, EMI took over.
