The Astor brand was one of the first electrical goods Companies in the 1920’s.
The recording company was founded in Melbourne in 1960, was operated by Electrical Industries and parent company Radio Corporation and was to become one of the major record companies in the country. Like it’s Sydney rival, Festival, Astor was responsible for distributing a number of labels such as Verve, Mercury, Pye, Red Bird, Elektra, MCA, Kama Sutra among others.
