Diamond Records was started in 1961 by brothers Joe Kolsky and Phil Kahl, both born in Poland. In 1957, Joe and Phil had helped co-found Roulette records.
In 1969, Diamond Records was sold to the Edwin H. Morris corporation, 
which was owned by Columbia Records.
By early 1970, Diamond Records had been sold to the music division of the Certron corporation.
