Boardwalk Records was started in 1980 by music mogul Neil Bogart after he left Casablanca Records to Polygram. Boardwalks premier artists were Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Ringo Starr and Night Ranger. After Bogart passed away in 1982, Jett and Night Ranger jumped ship to MCA. By 1985 the floundering label folded but was revived in 1990 and still continues today.
