Tempo Records was headquartered in Hollywood, California. It was run by Irving B. Fogel. Tempo bridged the 78 rpm and 45 rpm generations, releasing discs in both formats. Artists who recorded for Tempo included jazz harpist/composer Robert Maxwell, clarinetist Sid Phillips, cornetist Doc Evans, organist Ben Light, Novachord and organ virtuoso Lloyd Sloop, and violinist Joe Venuti.
