| The
CHS series is a common series of catalogue numbers used between
the UK and USA, but it seems the USA numbers stretch farther than
the UK. Missing numbers on either side of the Atlantic usually
mean a different B-side or coupling used in either country. |
In
England 1968, promoters Chris Wright and Terry Ellis, partners
in the Ellis-Wright Agency, agreed a licensing deal with Island
Records for their clients. The agreement stated that if they
achieved a certain number of hits within a set period they would
be given their own label. The hits arrived - Chrysalis was born.
The label was sold to EMI in 1991. |
