Record
Shack was a dance label based in Soho, London founded by Jeff
Weston. The label became a driving force of the early 80s Hi-NRG
scene with million-selling hits such as "So Many Men, So Little
Time" by Miquel Brown and "High Energy" by Evelyn Thomas, together
with many other club favourites, mainly produced by Ian Levine.
After Record Shack failed to make Seventh Avenue cross over
commercially, Ian Levine left the label in rage in 1986 to form
his own label Nightmare Records. Record Shack folded shortly
afterwards. Ian Levine today holds the rights to the major part
of the catalogue. |
