Avenue
Records was was run by Gordon Melville. The label issued budget-priced
LPs and EPs of Easy Listening music and cover versions of Pop
songs. Avenue's chief mover musically was ex-Pirate and Tornado
Alan Caddy. Various famous artists, such as Elton John,
appeared anonymos on the label before they became famous.
