Slagerfabrikken AS was started and run by Audun Tylden and Jan Paulsen in 1981. Svein Sundby was studio manager until 1987. In 1989 it was bought by Sonet which in turn was acquired by PolyGram in 1992. PolyGram was later part of Universal Music and the name Slagerfabrikken disappeared.
